Abstract
In the Ottoman era, Algeria was subject to the rule of the Ottoman
Caliphate for three centuries at the beginning of the 16th century AD, and
the rule of Algeria during the era of the midwives became independent of
it and subordinate to it nominally only, and the confiscation of Algerian
property during the Ottoman era was not a systematic or comprehensive
phenomenon, but it was found in some cases within certain contexts,
including: Confiscation of the property of senior officials, confiscation for
tax reasons, confiscation of army commanders of the property of their
opponents within the army divisions, confiscation of rebel property, and
this was reflected in the deterioration of trust among the population And
power and the weakness of agricultural activity and the growth of local
conflicts and the emergence of rebellions and revolutions against the
Ottoman authority
